Description:

Meet Buster!

This older Beagle guy is looking for a nice person or family to call his own. He is simply adorable.  Buster does very well in a crate, but kind of views it as punishment. His crate door is left open at night. He goes in there to sleep, or, if helped up on the human bed, loves being there as well.

Buster does do some chewing and should have many toys offered for distraction. If something is left laying on the floor, Buster may mistake it for a chew toy. If reprimanded for his chewing, he looks very ashamed, so it's best to not raise a voice, he already knows he's done something you don't like.

He is great walking on a leash and loves to walk. In a typical Beagle fashion, he has his nose to the ground, and sometimes finds a great scent irresistible and pull on the leash.  People who are particular about their backyard would appreciate that Buster will only poop on a walk, will not just go in the yard.

Buster has gotten used another dog in his foster home. He seems to enjoy her company and chasing each other around. He will
chase the kitten if the kitten runs, but that's it, he loses interest after that.

Buster is just the sweetest boy ever and a joy to have. He has been given human bed priviledges in his foster home and is a very good sleeper with a cute snore from time to time.
Buster barks very, very rarely. Despite his older age, he does get little spurts of energy, and runs around the couch and the living room. Loves belly rubs, loves to cuddle on the couch, then falls asleep.

He can't wait to meet his forever person or family and show them what a great boy he is!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
