Meet Sonya!

What a beautiful girl she is! Sonya was left in the overnight drop at a shelter. She is shy at first but warms up fast and loves to be held once she gets to know you.

She loves, loves, loves her human companions. Sonya happily rolls over for a belly rub and gives lots of kisses. She has a very sweet disposition - not a growl from this little lady. She is careful not to use her sharp puppy teeth on human hands too much.

Sonya is walking on a leash already, but mostly does like to run in circles around her guardian. She likes to burn off her terrier energy by running around in the yard.

In uncertain situations, Sonya may be a bit scared, but it doesn't last long. She would love to find a stable environment where the humans will love her and she can return this love hundred-fold.

Because of Sonya's young age (3 months), it is recommended that she is placed in a home where she is not left alone for more than 4 hours at a time. This will help Sonya learn and perfect a housetraining routine.

Update 12/8:

Sonya is a sweet little cuddle bug. She loves everyone-men, women, and kids. She does well with dogs-all sizes, and is used to cats and wants to play with them.

Sonya is not sure about all this cold white stuff outside, but she's getting used to it. She's working on potty training, and really just wants to please her people.

She is a playful puppy and enjoys having buddies to play with. She will be an amazing addition to any family looking for a fun, loving, cuddly little girl! She absolutely loves people and will give plenty of kisses if you let her!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
