Meet Brynna.

Brynna is a sweet little yorkie girl - friendly and out-going, but pretty mellow.   She would love to find a place to call her own!   Her vision isn't 100% - she is blind in one eye.   She doesn't let it bother her though!

from her foster 2/20/14:

Brynna is a sweet and mellow little girl that is looking for her forever home.  She came to MARS from Missouri, and we don't know much about her background.  She is so happy now that she has been cleaned up and is in a warm foster home.  Brynna is blind in one eye and has limited vision in her other eye, although she doesn't let this stop her!  Brynna was treated for ear infections and now she feels great!

At her current foster home, Brynna has quickly figured out her way around the house and where her bed and food is kept.  She has warmed up very quickly to her foster family and loves all people!  She falls in love with anyone who will rub her belly!  Brynna also loves other dogs - even though she can't see them very well to play, she will wag her tail to say hello.   Brynna is potty trained.   She only had a few accidents when she first arrived and did not know her routine or environment yet.  Now, Brynna will go to the back door and let me know when she needs to go outside.  Then she will wait at the door when she's ready to come inside.  Brynna is very quiet and rarely barks.  She also sleeps all night in bed with her foster mom.  When her foster mom leaves for work, Brynna naps in her bed and does very well when left alone.  She does not know how to walk on a leash yet, but she really enjoys playing outside!

Brynna is a very easy dog to have at home and is content to nap all day.  She is perfect for a person or family looking for a faithful companion.  She would do best in a home without small children because of her vision.  Brynna has been a joy to have, and a few friends have commented that she is their "favorite" foster pup that has come along so far.  When you see Brynna's sweet face, you won't be able to say no!

Brynna spent a week of vacation with a temp foster in March:

Brynna stayed with our family during her regular foster's vacation for a week.  She was nervous at first, but quickly warmed up to the family.  She loves a warm lap to lay on and was content on any of the teenagers laps.  She tolerated our medium sized, excited, playful dog.  She would let him greet her and would give a subtle growl when she had had enough of him.  She was quick to explore the house and learned the layout quickly, though we had to block the steps.  She is fully potty trained, and even when she didn't know where to go to let you know she needed out, she would come up to you and let you know she was ready by staring at you and barking if her other hints were missed.  She stayed in a kennel during the day when we were at work, and slept in a little doggie bed overnight in our room.  She did well in both environments.  She is a mellow dog who loves to lounge.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
