Description:
Meet Polly Pardon, she ended up in a shelter through no fault of her own, but MARS is giving her a pardon. Wont you help this girl into a new and happy life? My Husband and I picked up Polly just over a week ago now. We have renamed her Sasha, so as to not confuse the dogs when we call each one since their names were so similar sounding. She is responding to her new name just fine and has settled in very well. She gets along with our older dog, Ozzy, and they enjoy playing together. We have been taking her for long walks each day and she is becoming more accustomed to being around the sounds of cars passing, which seemed to spook her a bit when she first arrived. She has been introduced to many of our family and friends, and a few people on our walks, and has done just fine. She seems to have rebounded from her nervousness of men, and now has no issue greeting them. You would never know that she was afraid of men previously, unless we told you. Sasha (Polly) didn’t seem to know much about toys when she first arrived and had no interest in them, but now she is learning that they are hers to play with and has started to collect them in her kennel for safe keeping. It is very cute to watch her learn new things. She is curious about everything we do and follows us around the house, even if it’s just up and down the stairs with laundry. We recently learned on a walk that she hadn’t had exposure to lakes or rivers. Our current dog loves to swim and we took them down to the river for some swimming time. Sasha was standing at the water’s edge when our other dog plodded right in and the water washed up around her feet. She got very scared and ran downstream, not knowing what to do. We called her and she stopped running and turned to look at us for help. We coaxed her back and she returned very carefully and slowly, picking up her feet high and placing them down very autiously with each step. We will continue to expose her to more lakes and rivers to increase her comfort around them. Sasha is a joy to have in our home and we are so thankful to have been able to adopt her. We can’t imagine why anyone would neglect such and sweat and gentle young girl. I have attached a few pictures of her with our other dog. She is the smaller, darker one.

We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
