She LOVES going for a walk and walks well! I have not found a toy that she really likes; she prefers to find a sunny spot or a cozy pillow and chill. She loves to cuddle.

Shotzy is completely house trained! Kennel trained; does well going for walks and does well in the car. Did a great job with children at Petco!

She obeys come, sit, stay (mostly) and 'leave it'. She does not beg at meal time and she dances!

She LOVES blankets! Anywhere she can find one - on the couch chair or bed, on the laundry room floor needing to be washed, on top of the kennel...

She really wants to please and when there are tiffs, she immediately stops on command and retreats from the situation to a dog bed or kennel.

Shotzy is a very sweet girl! She does fine with other dogs but can be a bit bossy at times in that small dog way to some. She has been around dogs from 15 to 75lbs and done well.

Shotzy was also in a temporary foster home with a little girl who she was very patient with. Because of her size she should go to a home where if there are kids in the home they should know how to treat small dogs.

She would love a house where she could just lay back, relax, and pal around with you. Shotzy would be like a home with lower key dogs or ones that would at least let her be.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
