LOOKING FOR MY FOREVER HOME!

Hi, My name is Brin!

My favorite thing in the world is my Kong ball. But, it is really frustrating, because I want to be able to pick up more than one of them at a time, but my mouth is too small! My foster parents say I've "got some crazy athletic skills!" If they try to toss the ball in the house for me, I will frequently do an acrobatic move to catch it. I could play ball in the back yard with you for an hour at a time!

I also love playing with my foster brother who is a boxer. He weighs about 20 pounds more than me, but I hold my own with him pretty well. I love to run, and chase him, or be chased by him around the yard. I'd like my forever home to include a fenced yard, so I can run! And, another bigger dog pal would be good too, but not required. If I just had a smaller friend or a cat, I'd probably pick on them too much for their liking. I'd be wanting them to play with me all the time.

When my foster dad says "Where is my pretty girl?" I come running, wagging my whole body. It's so exciting that someone loves me! Now I just need to find a home of my own. I hope my forever family reads my message, so they know I'm looking for them.

I hope to meet you soon!
Love,
Brin

Note from the foster:
Brin is a very happy girl! She can be a bit shy at first, but once she knows you, she'll love you forever!

Brin has been great! She does well getting baths, getting her teeth brushed and when she's been at the vet. She rides well in the car and loves to go to PetCo. I can take a bone away from her easily, and when I pet her while she's eating, she just wags her tail harder.

Brin knows how to come, sit, drop, leave it, and always sits prior to getting her food and treats. We haven't had any chewing casualties, except an occasional sock.

Brin can be a bit shy at first. But within a few minutes she warms up. Brin has had some exposure to kids in the 10-16 year old range, but she really is a one or two person dog. She bonded closely with my husband and I, but is not super interested in our college aged boys. She would do well in an adult home or in a home with bigger kids. Because she is so muscular, when she gets excited, she could accidentally knock down smaller children.

Brin would be a great candidate for obedience and/or agility training. She listens well and frequently looks at the person who is walking her for approval.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
