Meet goofy Sparky. He arrives at MARS on 9/29 from a rural shelter where he was about to be put to sleep.

He is a very fun and silly boy who can't wait to find out what it means to be loved.

UPDATE!!!! 1/5/13 FROM SPARKY'S ADOPTIVE HOME!

It’s been a while, so I thought I’d drop in with a quick update. Sparky/Kaiser/Rocco is doing fabulously! We have joined the St. Paul Dog Training Club and are working our way through beginning obedience – he is doing better than I am! Roc has gained almost 30 lbs from when we got him and at last weight was around 84 lbs. I’m not sure if you remember, but he was only eating chicken and green beans when we got him and was terribly skinny. He is now on a good portion of Blue Buffalo every day and has filled out very well – he gets compliments all the time on what a handsome boy he is. We made our first trip to the dog park last week and he has been enjoying that and learning how to interact with other dogs. We also walk once or twice a day and do obedience work every evening. Keeping him busy has been the key to keeping him out of trouble, lol.

This adoption was one of the best pet choices we’ve made and I couldn’t be happier with him. He seems to feel the same as he really has come out of his shell and let his fabulous personality shine through. There isn’t a day that goes by that he doesn’t make me double over laughing.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.
