Description:
*Housetrained
*Sweet natured *Great agility potential Sky is a wonderful little girl. She is used to being around other dogs but has not seemed interested in playing with the resident Sheltie or toys. She prefers to be with her people and LOVES to snuggle and be held. Sky especially likes to hang out in the kitchen and look for any crumbs that may have fallen. Sky knows some basic commands. She will sit on command and responds to her name immediately. She will also sit-stay for about 15 seconds max which is a good start. She walks on a leash, but could use more practice with taking longer walks. Interested in agility? Sky would be wonderful! She can jump like a fiend - and easily cleared 2 1/2 feet when jumping over the indoor gate and onto the crate as well as onto the stools. If she finds the right combination of items to jump on - she can jump onto our kitchen counter and did twice! She needs to be leashed at all times when outdoors or needs a 6 foot fence. Sky is not used to being kenneled during the day - but kennels nicely for sleeping. Her coat is a little scant, but she was on rather poor dog food and will certainly improve with good diet and fish oil. If you are interested in this little sweetheart, please complete one of the adoption applications by clicking on the button below. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
