Hello to all prospective homes!!

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Breila. I'm an outta town gal who has recently relocated to this wonderful state.  My current living situation is in a foster home.  I also have a four legged foster brother and sister that I love.  I am a Rottweiler / hound cross. I know it's an odd combination, but hey, us odd ones are the best!!  My foster mom calls me her little "Rotten hound", but there is nothing rotten about me,  I am 50lbs of pure sweetness!! .

Sorry about that....my foster brother was trying to help.....Kids.  Speaking of kids, I absolutely love them!!! All ages and sizes!! I am excellent with kids because......I am not a jumper and am very gentle!! I am also not food aggressive...which reminds me....I LOVE food!!! I'm always looking for food, I especially love the kitchen, there are always tasty morsels falling on the floor, and I have to admit I'm looking for handouts too. What normal dog isn't looking for food handouts!! My ideal home is with a kid that likes to share their burgers, brats, hot dogs, fries....basically anything thats not chick food....with their best friend!!  And let me tell you, I will make an excellent besty because 1) I love to snuggle 2) I will follow you everywhere 3) I will keep you company 4) You can tell me anything and know that your secrets are safe with me 5) When you are sad I will be there to cheer you up 6) I am an excellent walking partner.

I do well with other dogs, but I like calm and controlled meetings, meaning I don't like pups in my business right away. I may make some noise letting others know that they need to back off until I figure out what they're all about.  Onto the next subject...Cats...I'm not so sure about them.  I do well with some better than others.  I like to chase them. So if you have cats a dog savvy one would most likely be best.  I do know a few basic commands.  I know sit and shake.  Shake is my favorite. I know if I shake I'm either getting attention or a TREAT!!!  I am kennel trained.  When it's time for mom to go to work, I run right in, no questions asked (usually because I get TREATS!!! Did I mention I love those). By the way, I'm not a big barker, but on  occasion I have been known to do it. Sometimes it will be a good one with sound, other times its raspy.

If you feel like I could be your families best friend, please fill out an application and come meet me.

I can't wait to meet you!!!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
