Meet Polly!

Polly's last day on earth was scheduled to be spent in a GAS CHAMBER. The dog warden loved Polly so much that he couldn't stomach the thought of shoving this sweet girl in the "hot box". He and his staff begged us to save her life. How could we possibly refuse??

Thankfully, Polly is now in a safe, warm foster home where she is really loving life! Poor, sweet Polly!

Polly is a happy go lucky girl who is ready to walk around the lakes, go roller blading and ? She has been through more than any young dog should and we are so excited to offer her a second chance at life!

Polly loves her toys and will gather them all up in a pile and then POUNCE on them- with her little rear end sticking up in the air!

Polly is great with other dogs; she is friendly and curious with cats. She sees them all as her new best friends!

Because of her charm and her fantastic demeanor, Polly is going to make some lucky family out there beam with pride!

Her foster Mom reports that Polly sleeps in bed with her (on her back) and snores away! Polly is now famous for her sleeping positions. She must be dreaming of the wonderful life she is going to have when she goes to her forever home!

<A Note From Her Foster Mom:

She is fabulous! Her coat is so pretty! She is completely potty trained and has gained a ton of confidence. I took her to the Lake of Isles dog park this weekend and she was such a lady. I think Polly enjoyed meeting the new people at the dog park more than the other dogs. She is pretty submissive to the other dogs and sought out puppies and younger dogs to play with. She likes to ride in the car and is comfortable around my horses now. I wish I could say the same for my cats — Polly is very interested in playing with them and will paw and bark at them. She has been scratched several times but still thinks Chase the Cat is the best game ever. Polly is very active and playful.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
