Sybil is a 6-year-old, active German Shepherd, who needs a new home due to her previous owner's health issues. She was raised from puppyhood by a loving and caring family, who made the grueling decision to give her up. Will you be the happy ending to Sybil's story? This sweet girl gets along well with adults, children, and cats. She's house-broken and well-mannered, and she has basic obedience training. She's a dominant girl and would do best as an only dog. Sybil also wants to explore the world around her, so a fully-fenced yard is a must. An invisible fence would be no match for this smart and determined GSD!

Sybil's parents were specifically bred to work with law enforcement and aid in search and rescue missions. It's no surprise, then, that she is an active girl with a strong work ethic. Sybil has the strength and intelligence to excel at any task. She does require a home with previous GSD experience, one that can provide strong, consistent, and positive leadership. Sybil responds well to this and yearns to please her master and family, whom she looks to for direction and praise.

But don't let her active nature fool you. Sybil is very affectionate, and she knows how to kick back and relax. If you want a lazy day of snuggling, she'll happily join you. This girl loves her people, and scratches, pets, and belly rubs rank high on her list of favorite things.

A few years ago, Sybil developed a rare bacterial infection and lost sight in her right eye. Although it appears "cloudy," it has little effect on her. She hasn't missed a beat. Sybil otherwise is in outstanding health, and she has a long life ahead of her. She will be an amazing companion to an owner that can provide exercise, love, and leadership. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
