Description:
Snickers has now found his forever home and we and he are thankful to his new forever family. Hi! My name is Snickers! I was a stray picked up in Fargo, ND. Nobody wanted to find a home for me because I had a cherry eye. A lady named Sue offered to pay for my cherry eye surgery. She said that I look like a dog she had when she was a little girl, so the friendly folks at MARS arranged to have me come to Minneapolis. For a little while, I got to live with a nice family that had three human “puppies” for me to play with, but the family isn’t living together anymore, and they said that they couldn’t take care of me, so now I am looking for another home. I hope I get to stay there this time. I am a very friendly fella. I LOVE other dogs of all sizes and shapes. I've played with little dogs and big dogs, and I play nicely with all of them. I love to wrestle! I haven't met very many kitties, but I've been very gentle with them. I really want them to play with me, but they think I am too big to play kitty games. I get very excited when I see those short humans you call "kids." I think that they're puppies like me, and I know they want to PLAY! I just love all kinds of people. I get so excited that my whole bottom half wags when I see people. I give big hugs and like to cuddle. I really want to come live with you! I think that I'd like to live in a home with some little humans so that I can play all the time. I think I'd like to have another dog at my house, but if you don't have a friend for me already, then maybe you can take me to a doggie park sometimes? I'm a good boy and I want to come give you all my love! Snickers is a wonderful boy. He has quite the fun personality. Unfortunately our family dynamics have changed severely and we are no longer able to give Snickers the attention and activity that a young vibrant dog like him needs. He is very sweet and funny boy. He flips his toys in the air and talks and grunts when he is being goofy! He loves to chew on bones and play with his toys! He still pulls on the leash and with time I think he can learn how to have good manners on the leash. He walks as if he is on a mission for the first couple of blocks. We have never had an accident in the house. He sits by the door and or in front of you to let you that he needs something. He loves our kids and gets along great with other dogs to. He has pretty good indoor manners but there is room for improvement. He has learned the commands Sit, Stay, Lay, Down, Out, Come, No and Shake. His tale wags constantly! He is just a happy guy and we would like to see him continue to be happy! We are truly heart broken that we will not be able to provide him a home anymore. He has stolen our hearts and we are so saddened to loose him, but he deserves stability, love and the attention he so greatly deserves. Please feel free to fill out an Adoption Application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
