Description:

Bruser was surrendered by a breeder. He had actually lived in the breeder's home as a pet, because he was not a 'good producer.' But recently the breeder bought some new breeding stock, so is getting rid of the other dogs.

Bruser is a classic black and tan guy, and weighs in at 90 pds. He is somewhat overweight, and could probably use to lose about 10-15 pds. Because he lived as a pet, he is well socialized. He is a very friendly, happy guy, getting along with people and dogs alike. We tested him with cats, and he seems to do OK with them also.

Bruser is house trained, kennel trained and a non barker!

He is great with our foster 4 month old shepherd puppy Sami (they are really a riot to watch together)! Very tolerant and sweet with her and is great with everyone he meets. He is doing great at obedience training, he's very smart. Enjoys the dog park, good with large and small dogs.

No food, or toy aggression at all. He really, really loves to play ball!!

He also enjoys getting brushed, going for walks and is great in the car and likes to go for rides and just hanging out with his people.

He is a real good boy and the love and affection you give him you will get back right back in return. This sweet guy deserves a loving fun home to finish out his years.

UPDATE FROM BRUSER'S ADOPTIVE HOME, JULY 19TH, 2011:

Bruiser spelled with an "i" like bruise, is doing great. He adapted to
life here very quickly. Never whined or moped in the car on the way home
or once he got here despite leaving his foster family of 4 months.  He
has been a lot of fun and is very popular among my friends, family and
the mail carriers. We just returned from a trip to Cape Cod where he
enjoyed his favorite past time, chasing balls, and picked up a new one,
chasing frisbees in the ocean.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.
