Description:
Finally, I am going home for good!! Thanks to everyone who helped me get home.

Meet Plunkett!

Plunkett now has a Foster Home while he waits to find his new forever home! Unfortunately, the home he had been staying in had some changes in their lives, A promotion for one (Which is good news, but bad for Plunkett as since he had to spend to much time alone. He has his new foster home which is great, now he just needs to find a permanent FOREVER home.

Plunkett is just about the sweetest boy you could ever meet. He makes new friends everywhere he goes. He just wants to be loved and thinks that every person and dog he meets are his new best friend. He will plunk down on the ground and if you come over and pet him, he will roll on his back and wait for that all inspiring bellyrub.

Plunkett is good with both adults and kids and he also loves other dogs. He came from an animal control facility in Arkansas where it was blistering hot and who doesn't have the ability to find home for so many dogs. Plunkett was due to be euthanized - now he is so happy to be alive and loving every minute in Minnesota!

Please help him find his forever home, where he can stay this happy!

Plunkett is a low maintenence dog who is crate trained, housebroken and just wants to be in the same room as people! He doesn't bark much and loves to sleep in bed if allowed.

A NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER MOM:

Plunkett moved into our home 12 days ago for foster care. He adapted very quickly to the environment and people. He allowed treatment for his surgical incision, and it is now healed.

Plunkett is very affectionate - likes to give kisses. He is completely housebroken, is very good on a leash and likes to go in the car.

At Petco, he was a perfect gentleman. He did not try to get into their yummy merchandise or hassle other dogs. From the moment he walked into the store, people approached him and complimented his handsome face and his loving personality.

Plunkett would love to be in a home with an owner who runs, Rollerblades, or walks regularly. He would enjoy being w/ other dogs who are playful. He is a bit bored by his housemates, who are not at all interested in playing. He tries to entice them but it just doesn't work.

Plunkett is a very handsome fellow with a distinctive appearance. His nose looks like black velvet, and his eyes are beautiful. He is smart and knows "sit" and "shake." He is crated during the day, which he doesn't mind at all. He likes to sleep in mom's bed, which is fine. When he is out in the evening, he tries to pounce on toads that are jumping around. He hasn't been aggressive at all with other dogs or with people. He allowed his toenails to be trimmed without so much as a whimper. This guy has only barked a couple of times, and then it was only a short phrase as he was trying to get some play going.

This great guy has had to move around quite a bit in his short life. He is so very ready for a forever home. Could yours be the one?

Won't you please give this sweet, beautiful boy a home? Maybe even a soft doggie bed?

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
