Description:
Adopted! 2/8/07 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WONDERFUL, SENSITIVE 6 year old girl longs to find someone to bond with! Saved from certain death, a Good Samaritan took Sheshe home to care for her until a rescue group could take her in. We were contacted and were happy to help Sheshe find a brand new start in life. She is 6 years old, weighs 77 pounds and is a very healthy, pretty girl. Sheshe has a beautiful cream and silver coat with a black and tan saddle. Here is what her Good Samaritan has to say: "Sheshe is a good girl. She is definitely sensitive and will bond with whomever she goes to. She "moans" sometimes when I massage her forehead right ahead of her ears. She leans into me and wants to be as close as she can and will sit on my feet. She will snuggle up beside you on the sofa as you relax. She's a smart girl and knows how to let herself out of a U-shaped latched gate. She went right to the latch on our fence gate and flipped it up with her nose, so "heads up" to anyone who has the U-shaped latch to keep their gate shut. ( Easy fix? A clip or "S" hook should work great!) Sheshe is an easy walker and doesn't pull much at all on her leash. Would be very trainable to walk in the heel position. She knows sit and shake (very eagerly), and when she lays down, she usually rolls over on her back for a tummy rub. This girl only wants to please! Someone will find a treasure in her!" Sheshe bonds easily with women but seems to have fallen in love with her new foster Dad! She likes men who are laid back and gentle but will get nervous if a man yells or starts ranting and raving in a gruff voice (me too, Sheshe!). Sheshe likes other dogs but prefers male dogs. She cannot go to a home with small dogs or a home with cats, bunnies, guinea pigs or ferrets. She is ok around fish, though! ; ) She likes older kids- ages 10 and above, who are gentle and respectful around animals. This girl is such a loyal companion! TOP TEN REASONS TO ADOPT A MATURE ADULT DOG 1. Mature dogs are housetrained. You won't have to go through the difficult stage(s) of teaching a puppy house manners and mopping up after accidents. 2. Mature dogs are not teething puppies, and won't chew your shoes and furniture while growing up. 3. Mature dogs can focus well because they've mellowed. Therefore, they learn quickly. 4. Older dogs have learned what "no" means. If they hadn't learned it, they wouldn't have gotten to be "older" dogs. 5. Mature dogs settle in easily, because they've learned what it takes to get along with others and become part of a pack. 6. Mature dogs are good at giving love, once they get into their new, loving home. They are grateful for the second chance they've been given. 7. What You See Is What You Get: Unlike puppies, older, mature dogs have grown into their shape and personality. Puppies can grow up to be quite different from what they seemed at first. 8. Mature dogs are instant companions -- ready for hiking, car trips, and other things you like to do. 9. Mature dogs leave you time for yourself, because they don't make the kinds of demands on your time and attention that puppies and young dogs do. 10. Mature dogs let you get a good night's sleep because they're accustomed to human schedules and don't generally need nighttime feedings, comforting, or bathroom breaks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
