Update from foster:

So in my short time with Bryan aka (Benny)I have not only met a beautiful, unique and definitely one of a kind looking dog. He is also a super friendly boy. He seems to be very outgoing and has fit right in with mypack. He is very good playing with the dogs. If he gets too playful, he is easy to calm down. He’s quite the couch-potato as well. Full of kisses and loves to up next to you on the couch, or dog bed,or your bed lol. He doesn’t bark hardly at all. Very smart too. He has learned to sit and he is working on coming to you when called. It could just be he doesn’t know his name yet. He does respond better to Benny. Has NEVER had any accidents since fostering him. He is gonna need walks and someone that likes to go out to nature and bring him with. He’s kind of the best of both types of dogs in respect, when in the house he loves to lounge, and outside he’s loves to lay in the sun sniffing everything or running around with the pack. He chased a rabbit around once until it escaped the fence so I know there is a pey drive there. But he loves other dogs. He has an overall laid back just kickin it attitude.

Really a great friend to have.

Bryan
found himself homeless and at a miserable high kill shelter. Fortunately a local volunteer met him and reached out to MARS for rescue. Now he is headed to  MARS 6/26/21 and needs a foster home to keep him safe until we find his forever home.

Shelter staff tell us he is an energetic boy with a wonderful personality. He seems to love people and enjoys being outside with the other dogs. When approached he always has his tail wagging and his butt wiggling with excitement! At this time we do not know how he will be with children or cats.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
