Description:
Meet Snowball, Update from Snowball's new foster: Snowball is a wonderful dog. She is very much a Rat Terrier, bursting with energy but devoted to her family to the core. She is extremely energetic and agile: she can jump a four-foot fence and hop onto the kitchen counter without much effort. She will also jump right into your arms so that you can carry her around like a baby. Snowball needs a home that will give her some structure, training, an outlet for her energy, and extra love. Snowball is wary of strangers and doesn't warm up to people on the first visit. However, once she is used to you, and sometimes it just takes two long visits, she is extremely affectionate and will sit in your lap and soak up the attention. She just requires some patience from new people. Snowball is housetrained and gets along with the resident cat and three dogs. She is assertive with other dogs but not aggressive. She loves to play and wrestle very rough with dogs about her own size. She also likes to dig! She is a champion at digging holes, so she needs to be occupied when she's outside. She loves to run in the yard, and she also enjoys walks on a leash. When she's inside, she usually behaves, but she needs to be crated or confined when no one is home because she finds her own fun if she's bored. She is an excellent watchdog who takes her patrol very seriously. Snowball would do well in an active home, especially one with a fenced yard. She is getting better at meeting new people, but she doesn't feel comfortable when she first meets them. She would probably excel in obedience and agility training since she is eager to please and extremely agile! She is a loving dog looking for just the right home. Please feel free to fill out an Adoption application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
