Meet Sebastian!

Sebastian is coming to us from a home that is having some hardship. They are currently unable to take care of all the dogs and have reached out for help.

Sebastian came to us in pretty rough shape. He is very thin and was in desperate need of grooming. He is feeling much better and is doing great in his foster home.

Sebastian is loving his new life of freedom, toys, food, kind people and a clean and warm home. He loves walks, hanging out in his soft bed, cuddling in laps, chewing on bones and being around his people.

He sleeps in his crate, all night long, and awakes when his family does. He is then ready to head right outside to complete his morning toileting. Upon his return, he sits for his breakfast and is ready to start the day!

Sebastian is a calm, well mannered guy. He has found out about toys, and he is beginning to understand that he can play and find joy in them. He needs still needs to put on a little weight, as he was sooooo thin upon his arrival at MARS. He has some skin irritations from past unhealthy living environments. They are looking better each day with good nutrition.

He’s overall a fairly quiet guy, with occasional noises from his kennel when left alone. He has not chewed or been destructive in any way; a very trustworthy guy with material possessions. He does great with pooping outside and is seriously working on his peeing schedule.

As a senior dog, experiencing a whole new world of freedom and people who care about him, he is ready to give all his love of life and his unending affection to his new forever family. Sebastian is a survivor who is looking forward to places to go, people to meet and experiences that most other dogs have had on a daily basis. And he’s amazingly handsome, too!!!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
