Description:
Meet Buster! Buster is a gorgeous Great Dane mix! Look at those tiger stripes! Buster just arrived in rescue, and is settling in to his foster home. Since Buster is still a puppy, is a fairly high energy boy, but being a Great Dane he will likely end up being very mellow. He rides well in the car and is very well mannered. This sweet boy just needs a second chance. Will it be with you? UPDATE FROM BUSTER'S FOSTER: Buster is an awesome dog. He may be pure Great Dane, I'm not an expert, but I can't see much of any other breed in him. His ears flop when he is insecure, but stand straight up when happy or when trying to impress you. He is still a big puppy and is so very happy to please. He will sit or lay right at your feet and is quite obedient after he settles down. He knows sit, lay down, and comes when he is called (with a huge loping gallop). He will grow into a fine, noble dog. He is also very smart, he found me this morning while he was outside and I was in the laundry room by looking in all the windows. You've seen his photos, he is drop dead gorgeous and will only get more handsome as he matures. He does not bark very much, he does like to "play" with cats (though the cats at this point are not all that happy about that). He is very housebroken and hasn't ever messed in the house. He needs some training as he is a big dog, but he learns very quickly. He loves walks, to have his tummy rubbed, FOOD, balls, tug-o-war, and to my great pleasure-snuggling. He gets along with other dogs, while not aggressive, he plays BIG and would be best with another bigger dog. He is hungry to have his own person or family to love. Oh he also likes to climb into the bathtub and play hide and seek behind the shower curtain. Please feel free to fill out an Adoption application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
