Meet Buster!

Buster has some vision loss and is currently taking eye drops and is a total trooper when they need to be given. After just a couple days in his foster home he has adjusted so well you would not think he has limited vision. His foster mom showed him once where the water dish is and he knew right where to go to get a drink. In the morning we say lets go outside and he runs to the door to go outside to do his business and does fine up and down the few steps on the deck. Loves to explore his surroundings and makes his way around the house and yard just fine. He has very good hearing and loves to hear you talk to him and always comes when he is called. Such a happy boy running around with his tail wagging. He is totally housetrained and has never had an accident.

Buster is crated at night but is not happy about it but does quiet quickly but will gladly sleep with you. The stairs are gated off in his foster home and he has free run when home alone. Depending on home style he may need to be in a secure room when you are gone if no stairs or gated stairs he would be fine to have free roam.

He does well on his daily walks sometimes follows sometimes takes the lead. After going on a few walks he is getting to know the routes we take and as he gets familiar he is more secure.

Loves to get his pets and tummy rubs. Jumps up on the couch when you pat it for him to come up but don't jump off and we put him down after his cuddle time. Loves to cuddle! If his foster is reading or at TV time he is right next to them if they are up doing things he's following them around just loves to be close.

He's a mellow fellow and should be fine around respectful children. He would enjoy having another dog in the home and a fenced yard but it's not a requirement. Fast movement toward him makes him backup and be cautious but he don't nip or snap.

Buster is looking for someone who can overlook his limited vision and just love him for who he is. If it's you then you will have the perfect boy to love and he will love you back even more.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
