Description:
Hi my name is Gunner! Boy, do I have a crazy story to tell you....It all starts back in Texas.....I lived in a home in Texas with my owner, who was a young adult, and his mom. One day, my owner took me on a really long car ride to Minnesota. Boy is it cold up here! Sometime after we got here, my owner decided he wanted to go to a movie. This was on one of those super cold days recently. He wasn't too smart, because he left me loose in the back of his uncovered pick up truck! Yep, just left me sitting by myself in the freezing cold! I wasn't even on a leash...so if I weren't a smart dog, I could have ran out on to the highway and gotten hit by a car! So, some nice people saw me, and called the police. I was really happy to get in to that nice warm police car. They took me to this place they call "the pound". My owner was contacted, but when he found out he'd have to pay to spring me from jail...he said he was going back to Texas and that I could stay there! Can you believe it? Well, the story gets even better..... So the people at the pound sent a letter to my old address in Texas. My owners mom got the letter, and called the pound. She was very confused by the letter, because my owner told her that I'd been out hunting with him and had been attacked and killed by a wild animal! CRAZY! She was absolutely shocked to find out I was alive and well in Minnesota! I had to stay at the pound for several days, then moved to a foster home. Unfortunately I didn't get along well with the resident dog, and had to go in to boarding! Thank goodness another nice foster home came along, and I'm settling in there now I'm good at throwing a ball for myself. I could entertain myself for hours with a simple toy! I hope to meet you soon, and that you have a nice warm bed for me at your house. Love, Gunner Please feel free to fill out an Adoption application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
