Description:
Meet Pippi, Pippi is a poor little girl that was stuck in jail. She was very afraid to be there with all those other big dogs...barking all the time. She was stuck sleeping on a cement floor, when she belonged in a cushy dog bed. A wonderful foster home has stepped forward and she is now out of that horrible place. Can you help out a little girl in need? Update from Pippi's foster: If the words "sweetest dog" were in the dictionary, Pippi's picture would be right there along side it! When I first brought Pippi home I opened the gate & was prepared for her to bolt out. Well, she came out dancing instead! She jumped up on my couch and burrowed into a blanket like it had been hers all along. I let her rest up for an hour, then took her outside to the backyard. She has left her tracks throughout my entire yard - she did not miss an inch! When we came inside, she did the same thing in the house - sniffed it from top to bottom, checked out my 2 cats, then snuggled back up on the couch. I put her in the kennel for the night and never heard a peep out of her. On Sunday I left her alone in her crate for a few hours to do some shopping. She barked for a minute or two, then quieted right down. When I got home she was doing her dance for me again - that little tail was going as fast as it could! Sunday night she slept on the couch. There is no need to crate this little angel at night. She has not had an accident, despite the brutal cold weather we are currently experiencing. I carry her out, set her down, she does her business, I pick her up & back inside we go. Pippi is all about plush squeaky toys! She plays like a puppy, fetches, retrieves, nudges me if I ignore her too long (anything longer than 2 seconds is too long!), loves her belly rubbed, eats like a champ, ventures around the house on her own. All my windows have seats for the cats to look out & she checks out each one too. She is not intimidated by eithercat, even though they are bigger than her! She is anxiously yet patiently waiting for them to become her new playmates. She responds well to "no", and runs to the door when I ask if she wants to go "potty". I am working on sit & stay. She is a finger licker, rather than a face licker which suits me just fine. And she definitely loves to snuggle up on the couch with me. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Pippi. She has welcomed 2 visitors without incident, licked my son's fingers when he stopped by the first night, barked briefly at a neighbor through the window, and has just overall made herself right at home. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
