Meet Sherlock!

He is a very handsome Black and Silver Phantom Cockapoo with silky curly hair. He immediately makes friends with people of all ages. Sherlock likes to study new surroundings because cataracts prevent him from seeing clearly and he likes to know where things are located and be able to navigate well.  Once he learns the layout, Sherlock confidently follows you around. He would do best in a calm forever home that doesn't have a lot of coming and going or furniture being moved around :-)

From the moment you meet Sherlock, he steals your heart. You just can't help but fall in love with his sweet, affectionate personality. He is gentle with the 18-month old toddler in his foster home and recently enjoyed sharing an apple with her (see a photo).  Sherlock knows he's adorable and makes the little girl giggle. He follows his foster mom around the house. He enjoys napping at her feet.  He has a funny way to stretch out his back and front legs and relax, what a cutie! Sherlock comes over to get affection from his foster dad and people visiting the house, too. He's everyone's friend.

At night, Sherlock goes into his crate (his own initiative!) and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained and follows the potty schedule established for the resident dog. He alerts you when someone is at the door, but is not a barker.  He gets along very well with the tiny resident dog. He is said to be great with cats, too.

Sherlock seems to enjoy going for walks, although in the current freezing temperatures, those are very short. He is using doggie booties to avoid freezing his paws and does exceptionally well in them. He runs gingerly on the leash but does not pull.

Sherlock has enjoyed the holidays at his foster home and loved the Christmas theme squeaky toy presents (see the video). He is now ready to find a forever home.
