Brody is a very loyal active Tibetan Terrier. He is great on a leash, house trained, crate trained and a huge cuddle! He loves his toys and still plays like a puppy!
At about 3 years old and 35 lbs he should not be in a home with young children as he is very loyal and protective and will tend to "claim" his person. Brody will need a foster that is willing to work with is guarding issues. He will guard his people and that is his way of "protecting" them. He can be very sweet and loving but he can also be very stubborn. He will need a two week shut down as well as a dedicated foster. This will be a long term (6 month) commitment and an experienced, patient foster. MARS will provide the tools you need for training. We also provide food, medical, toys, crate and anything this little guy needs to be happy and healthy.
A fully fenced yard is a must as well as weekly training sessions. The foster will work closely with the trainers as well as the rep to make sure we can successfully get Brody to a place he does not feel like he has to "take care of everyone." When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.
