Meet Stewart!

Stewart's time was up. He was at a high kill shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized in the gas chamber. One look at his little face and we knew this little guy deserved a second chance!

Stewart is now doing well in his foster home and gets along well with the other dogs; he is respectful and greets them appropriately. Not much of a barker, but will react when the other 4 dogs react/bark. He is housetrained with no accidents and is kennel trained as well. His foster mom has left him out of the kennel for a few hours (others were kenneled) and he does not get into mischief.

Stewart loves going for walks and does excellent on the leash. Likes to cuddle when he can and always likes to be around his people. Very affectionate and is fun to have around.

He does like to be outside with you and seems to just fit in to whatever your doing. Rides super nice in the car and fireworks did not phase him in the least. His foster family thinks he would do well in any home, but probably best with older, respectful children vs. small unpredictable kids because of his size.

URGENT: needs a temporary foster home, while we work to find a forever home. We cover all authorized medical expenses.

You simply provide a safe, loving home!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
